For and Against Trump

My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now a writer who has
published three books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.
Many people might consider me a conservative and pro-Trump. In fact, I am
a member of the Libertarian Party USA, which is in terms of money and economics conservative but in
terms of social issues fairly liberal. It is considered a third party in the United States, and has no
association with the big Republican and Democratic parties. This all said, I must state that I did not
vote for current U.S. President Donald Trump, and did not vote for his rival Hillary Clinton either. For me, I do not support Donald Trump, and I am not against him either. If anything, I am for some of his policies, and I am
against some of his policies. On the question of U.S. healthcare reform, I am against the Republican
policy of replace and repeal. In terms of renegotiating trade deals with other countries, I am against this
as well. I believe that it is necessary to keep what military alliances we have, and negotiate whatever
payment arrangements there must be made for American soldiers stationed in these countries. Having
been to four Communist countries (China, Cuba, the former East Germany and the former Soviet Union),
I am opposed to Communism and socialism because I have seen how socialism works, or rather
doesn’t work. I believe in strict laws to protect personal privacy, and making sure that no one branch
of government (any government) has more power than the others. I believe that Trump should help
those countries on our side, and keep in check those that might prove to be our opponents. I
believe that Trump’s stricter enforcement of immigration will not work, and that immigration should
be seriously reformed. In short, I will praise Trum for what I believe he does right and condemn him
for what he does wrong.
